Plain-language terms for using the SQLBackup software and this website. Last updated 26 June 2026.
SQLBackup is licensed under the MIT License. Your rights to use, modify, and distribute the software are governed by that license — see the License page. These terms cover the website and general use.
SQLBackup is provided without warranty of any kind. While it is built carefully and uses standard, audited cryptography and each database's official tooling, you are responsible for verifying that your backups complete and that you can restore them. Test your restores regularly.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any data loss, downtime, or damages arising from the use or inability to use the software. Backups are a safety net you operate; ultimate responsibility for your data rests with you.
Interactive demos on this site (the live dashboard, pipeline, config builder, and restore simulator) are illustrative and use sample data. They do not connect to real databases or storage.
We may update these terms from time to time; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
